| I have been a professional truck driver for the past 20 years and am involved with a talented group of people, organizing and judging the BC Professional Truck Driving Championships. I am very passionate about road safety and have become involved in video-taping traffic to enable me to show the general public what not to do around trucks. Global TV News has used my footage on many news stories pertaining to traffic as well as producing a Documentary entitled "Rage", that was partly about road rage, in which they also used footage from my website.
The past few years have been quite interesting as I became a driving coach (Markel Insurance Defensive Driving Coach) while at Vedder Transport and then a Driving Instructor (ICBC Class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5/7 Practical and Air Brake Instructor) teaching the Earning Your Wheels (CTHRC National Standards) course at the Langley branch of Mountain Transport Institute Ltd. while that location was still open. I found that students of this program were better trained and safer drivers than many that are already licenced. I feel there is a real need for driver evaluations to ensure employers and drivers have access to the proper information to help them be as safe and efficient as possible during the performance of their duties. |
